Knee
My interest in knee problems began over twenty years ago due to my own complaints. Since then, I’ve immersed myself deeply in everything related to the knee. Because I’ve experienced pain myself, I understand what you’re going through. My ongoing professional development reflects my commitment to helping you as effectively as possible.

I’ve completed dozens of advanced trainings, including in Muay Thai camps in Thailand. In 2024, I trained with a 73-year-old Muay Thai teacher who said: “If I’ve been kicking knees since I was six, I should also know how to heal them.” There, I gained deeper, hands-on knowledge that I now apply in my practice.

I also participate in dissection room sessions at Erasmus MC as part of my medical continuing education. Within Shiatsu therapy, I use pressure points—called tsubo—to relieve knee pain. Thanks to my expertise, I can also support you with customized home exercises for recovery and prevention.

Abdomen
The abdomen functions as the body’s engine. A healthy balance there is essential for healing. After a dengue infection in 2010, I delved into traditional Asian treatment methods. In 2011, I spent five months in Thailand for study and personal recovery. In 2024, I continued this study with a focus on abdominal massage using elbow techniques.

I combine Thai abdominal massage and Japanese Ampuku to support hormonal balance and the immune system, with effects such as:

  • Improved sleep
  • Stronger immunity
  • Reduced inflammation, fatigue, and nerve pain

In 2023, I wrote a thesis on dengue as part of my medical foundational studies (MBK).

Concussion
In the Netherlands, concussions are often underestimated if you haven’t lost consciousness. Yet lingering symptoms frequently persist, even without visible abnormalities on scans.

In Asia, with its long tradition of full-contact sports, there is extensive knowledge about concussions. Rest is essential: only resume activity once balance, nausea, and dizziness have fully resolved.

Training
In addition to treatments, it’s possible to follow one-on-one or small group training sessions—such as Muay Thai stretching—to improve your balance, flexibility, and mental well-being (Read more about this here.)
