Privacy Statement

Your Privacy
For effective treatment, it is necessary that I, as your treating therapist, maintain a file. This is also a legal obligation imposed by the WGBO. Your file contains notes about your health condition and information about the examinations and treatments performed.

The file also includes data necessary for your treatment that I have requested from another healthcare provider—such as your general practitioner—after receiving your explicit consent.

We do our best to safeguard your privacy. This means, among other things, that we:

  • Handle your personal and medical data with care;
  • Ensure that unauthorized persons do not have access to your data;
  • As your treating therapist, I am the only one with access to the data in your file. I am legally bound by confidentiality (professional secrecy).

The data from your file may also be used for the following purposes:

  • To inform other healthcare providers, for example when therapy has concluded or in case of referral to another practitioner. This is done only with your explicit consent.
  • For use during substitution, in my absence;
  • Or for anonymized use during peer review;
  • A small portion of the data from your file is used for financial administration, so that I or my administrator can prepare an invoice.

If I wish to use your data for any other reason, I will first inform you and explicitly request your consent.

This data in the client file is retained for 20 years, as required by the law on treatment agreements.

Privacy on the healthcare invoice
On the healthcare invoice you receive, the data required by the health insurer is listed so that you can submit the invoice for reimbursement.

  • Your name, address, and city of residence
  • Your date of birth
  • The date of the treatment
  • A brief description of the treatment, such as ‘naturopathic treatment’ or ‘psychosocial consultation’
  • The cost of the consultation
