I’ve been coming to Louis for shiatsu treatments regularly for almost seven years now. In the beginning, I was struggling with early signs of RSI due to long hours at the computer combined with stress. Most of the tension was in my shoulders and neck.
For me, shiatsu is a relaxed and effective way to keep those issues under control. During stressful periods, I come every 3 to 4 weeks, and that really helps. Shiatsu with Louis is a very firm massage! I’ve had massages at spa centers before, but this is truly something else. With Louis, you really feel like your muscles have been loosened, everything is back in place and moving smoothly again. That doesn’t mean the massages are always “relaxing” — but they are definitely effective. What I really appreciate is the flexibility in scheduling, even late in the evenings.
Last year, I continued treatments throughout my pregnancy. Instead of lying on my back or stomach, I was treated on my side — and that worked perfectly.
Toward the end of my pregnancy, it turned out the baby was in breech position, and I was scheduled to see the gynecologist for a version (manual turning). A few days before that appointment, I had a shiatsu session with Louis, and he took that into account and tried to influence the situation. At the hospital, it turned out the baby had already turned on its own. So it’s quite likely that shiatsu had a positive effect — I was definitely very happy!
Four weeks after giving birth, I suddenly had severe shoulder pain and needed painkillers just to carry and feed my baby. I contacted Louis and was able to get an appointment within two days. Again, I was well taken care of, and the pain significantly decreased. By the way, I had to bring the baby along to the session, and Louis was very flexible about that. The baby even lay next to me on the treatment mat for a while.
In short: Louis is incredibly flexible, the massages are highly effective and relaxing for me, and I would recommend him to anyone who appreciates firm massage — whether you have specific complaints or not.
