In my job, it\u2019s always either full speed ahead or a complete standstill. The working hours are pretty irregular too. I can always feel it in my body when stress or tension starts to build up \u2014 I get lower back pain, and my digestion slows down (constipation).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year, I felt the tension creeping in and decided I wanted to do something about it before it got out of hand. A friend told me that his company regularly brings in a shiatsu therapist to treat employees. It turned out that Louis Casteelen has his own massage space there and also treats people from outside the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After my first session, I was immediately enthusiastic! By applying pressure to specific points (sometimes quite firmly), Louis releases the blockages that have built up. I can literally feel the energy flowing again afterward. When he presses a certain spot on my hand \u2014 between my thumb and index finger \u2014 my intestines sometimes start to gurgle. That point corresponds to the large intestine meridian. You can really feel something happening. After a treatment, I always feel energized and pleasantly warm. It truly feels like everything is flowing again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now I occasionally book a shiatsu session to prevent fatigue or stress.
